In order for a member to be on the list, he/she will have to have fulfilled any training and experience requirements of one of the recognised mediation organisations. The mediator's name, when it appears on the website, will have next to it the name of the organisation to which he or she is accredited. The organisations which are acceptable to the Association are the Academy of Experts, ADR Group, Centre for Dispute Resolution, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

The PLA does not warrant that any of the mediators are suitable persons for any particular mediation. The PLA has requested and received evidence of their accreditation by the bodies noted below each person's name.
