Preparing a Case for Mediation
The purpose of a mediation is to settle the dispute. Mediation involves a discussion of the merits of the case, not a presentation of evidence as occurs in a trial or in Arbitration. It is essential that all sides come to the mediation session with sufficient authority to settle (the parties themselves, not just their legal representatives).
PLA guidelines for preparing a case for mediation and other informative documents relating to the Mediation Facility provided by the PLA are available in the PLA website library.
