PLA - Property Litigation Association

Requesting a Mediator

Once the parties (or one of them) have taken a name from the List of PLA Mediators, it is for the parties to approach the prospective mediator and ask whether they are willing to act. If they are, the Association provides, on this website, a standard form of mediation agreement and other useful information.

It is for the mediator to agree with the parties his fees for conducting the mediation, and it is for the mediator to recover those fees from the parties. The Association does not recommend a scale of charges and does not accept any responsibility in that respect.

An example letter requesting a mediator to act in the dispute and other informative documents relating to the Mediation Facility provided by the PLA are available on this website - see column to the right.
