1954 Act pilot in Central London County Court to become permanent save for high value and/or complex cases

The PLA has been informed that the pilot in the First Tier Tribunal will become permanent but with an opportunity for either party to request that the case should be dealt with by a Circuit Judge at Central London County Court. The Claimant will be able to request this at the time of issue and the Defendant in its acknowledgement of service. If such an application is made it will be sent to HHJ Johns/Dight to decide whether it is sufficiently high value or complex to remain at Central London County Court, with each case to be decided on its merits. The start date for the scheme has yet to be agreed and a formal announcement will follow which we shall publicise via the PLA website once received.
