On 13 February 2020 a JAC competition opens for the appointment of 1 Chancery Master and 8 Deputy Chancery Masters. The period for making an application runs to 27 February 2020.
The work of the Masters is both interesting and demanding and, following a recent SSRB review, the Masters are now in salary group 6.1 (the same level as Circuit Judges). Deputies are paid a daily rate that is pro-rata the salary.
On 4 February 2020 at 6.00 at the Rolls Building the Chancery Masters are holding an ‘open evening’ for all those who are thinking that they might wish to apply. There will be brief presentations providing information about the work of the Masters and what is involved in making an application in the competition, followed by questions and discussion.
The Masters will also welcome requests from any prospective candidate to sit in.
Anyone who would like to attend the open evening and/or to sit in should contact the Chief Master: firstname.lastname@example.org
In addition, anyone who is unable to attend the open evening is welcome to have an informal conversation with the Chief Master or any other Master:
