DATE: Tuesday 12th June 2018.
TIME: 17:30 with drinks and networking afterwards.
VENUE: West Pier Centre, Brighton West Pier Trust, Kings Road, Brighton BN1 2FL c/o Coffin Mew LLP
This seminar/workshop will use 2 sets of hypothetical proceedings to illustrate the steps necessary to prepare the evidence required for trial/final hearing.
The first example will be based on a lease renewal of commercial premises under the 1954 Act where the tenant wants to include a break clause as a term of the new lease.
The second example will be based on an application by a landlord of residential premises under the 1987 Act where the landlord wants to vary leases.
Time will be divided equally between the 2 examples. The material will be straightforward so that no prior reading or detailed background knowledge is necessary.
The session will be designed to be as practical as possible. It will cover the oral, factual and expert evidence that might be necessary, how to collate and present that evidence, and will discuss some of the pitfalls involved and how to avoid them.
There will be time for questions and observations during and after the event
The event will be followed by drinks and networking. The event is free to attend and open to non-members. Places are limited to 30 attendees only. Please use the booking form below.
