Law Reform Consultation Responses & News

On 27 February 2013 the Law Commission published its report on reform of the Electronic Communications Code and in so doing recommended a complete re-draft. The report does not include a draft Bill but the Government is said to be committed to the implementation of a revised Code (which will not be retrospective) in light of the report.

The Ministry of Justice published its response to the consultation, Transforming Bailiff Action, on 25 January 2013.

The PBA and PLA comprise 370 barristers and 1,100 solicitors, respectively, specializing in property litigation. Members’ areas of expertise cover the full gamut of commercial, residential and agricultural property law. This is a joint response by the two organizations.

Response On Behalf of the Property Litigation Association To DEFRA’s Consultation Document “Consultation on the registration of new town or village greens” – Consultation End Date 17th October 2011.

The Property Litigation Association has over 1,000 members, all of whom are lawyers who deal at least 50% of the time with property disputes. As such, we can only comment on issues involving service charge disputes, rather than give a balanced view as to service charges as a whole.

This is a summary of the various responses to the Government consultation on squatting.

You may recall that, on behalf of the Association, the Law Reform Committee drafted, and the Main Committee approved, a response to the Ministry of Justice Consultation on dealing with changes to the county courts.
