Vivien King Memorial Grant

The PLA is proud to announce the establishment of the Vivien King Memorial Grant. A tribute to an extraordinary woman who made significant contributions to the field of property litigation. Vivien was a trailblazer, a dedicated professional, and a well-respected member of the PLA.

Her career began in the 1970s, at a time when female solicitors in City firms were unheard of. Vivien quickly distinguished herself as a leading practitioner in property litigation, becoming a partner at several prestigious firms. Vivien was known for her feisty yet fair approach, earning the respect and loyalty of her clients and peers alike.

Vivien served on the PLA Law Reform Committee working on the dilapidations protocol and many other projects.  Following her retirement from the legal profession, Vivien was made an honorary member of the PLA in recognition of her major contribution to the profession in this area.

In her memory, it is hoped that the Grant will support property litigators who may need financial assistance to fund their membership of the PLA and attendance at PLA and wider industry events. We hope that this will help ensure that our membership remains accessible to all property litigation professionals and cultivate the next generation of leaders who embody Vivien's spirit of excellence, fairness, and dedication.

The Grant is open to PLA members and also professionals that practice within the field of property litigation including trainee solicitors; legal apprentices and paralegals.
