Has the legal profession achieved gender equality?
Online booking for this event is now closed. If you wish to attend email events@pla.org.uk.
Whilst women now make up 62% of solicitors and 39% of barristers, only 32% were full equity partners in law firms according to data collected in 2023 and female KCs made up 21.1% of the profession in 2024. So can we really say we have reached gender equality? If not, where do we go from here?

Please join us for a panel discussion on the issues facing women in the legal profession with Upper Tribunal Judge Elizabeth Cooke, Jacqui Joyce, The Property Mediators, Caroline Shea KC, barrister, Falcon Chambers, Janine Cheema, Partner, Hill Dickinson, Rebecca Campbell, Partner, BCLP, and Chair: Sarah Walker-Smith CEO, Shakespeare Martineau – part of the AMPA Group.
Registration is from 5.30pm for a prompt 6pm start. The panel discussion will finish at 7pm and be followed by networking drinks.
Booking: open to all PLA members and prop lit trainees/ paralegals/ apprentices attending with a PLA member. To book select the tickets you require and click 'book'. This will add the tickets to your basket at the top of the screen. Click on the basket to add delegate details and to 'checkout'.
